Blogging For Beginners” would be the name of the book I would write if I had the time to devote to becoming a publisher. I could easily fill this book up with 100 or more pages teaching you all about blogging.
I would tell you about all the different blogging platforms that are available to use, the favorite plug-ins I use and some ass kicking methods I use for obtaining traffic.
However, with that being said, let’s not complicate things by having you read 100 plus pages of filler and rubbish when all you really need to do is get started quickly with the right teacher that can lay the steps out for you to follow. In my imaginary book called Blogging for Beginners, I would cut to the chase and get right into the meat and potatoes of blogging.
So let’s pretend you want to be a blogger. In the first place, “What is a blog?”
Well a blog is somewhat like a website but very distinctive in it’s features. For instance with a blog you have blog posts that have dates on them that let your readers know when you last posted to your blog. With a website you have pages without having the dates visible.
A blog looks very much like a journal rather than a website and it has the ability to have archives, reader comments, and other things that are beneficial in promoting the blog making it easy to teach people the ins and outs of blogging for beginners.
As a reader of my book Blogging for Beginners you would learn that the first two things you need to start a blog is a domain name and a web hosting account.
For the domain name I would suggest getting a top level domain name such as a.com,.net or.org. I would also explain that you could start a blog without the top level domain name and just have a sub-domain off of your hosting accounts general domain, but unless finances are tight why would anyone not want to own their own domain. I would tell my readers that it’s better to own their own domain name in case they ever want to sell their blog down the road.
Once you have registered a domain name, which will take place only after you have discovered the best niche phrase to work with that has a decent amount of searches per month and low competition, it gets easier from there.
Everything will be up and running in a matter of minutes just by using your web hosting c-panel to install the wordpress platform onto your domain name. See, blogging for beginners really can be easy if you have the right teacher.
